I love a trip to the isle of wight and if you haven’t been, you need to get over there. With all those lovely beaches its best in summer, but autumn brings breezy sea walks, moody skies and less tourists – still so much to love.
Steephill cove – not bad at all (picture: getty images) you’re spoilt for choice for beaches on the isle of wight, but steephill cove has to be one of the prettiest spots.
Steephill cove's tiny, sandy beach is fringed by buildings that range from stone cottages to rickety-looking shacks. Beach finds festoon porches dotted with driftwood furniture and draped with fishing nets; a tiny clapboard lighthouse presides over the scene.
It was short, just over 2 miles and presented loads of opportunities for me to test out the capabilities of this app and just as important, stop for a coffee in the sun with great views. The walk takes you from steephill cove in a circular route round to ventnor and back.
